Business/Personal Safety Program For Granbury
The First National Bank, the Heritage National Bank, the Community Bank, and the Texas Bank, all located in Granbury, Texas, in cooperation with the Granbury Chamber of Commerce, are presenting a program for the residents of Granbury on dealing with violent crime. Granbury is a small town that lies about 35 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. It is home to six banks, and is a "typical, Texas town" according to Jerry Campbell, V.P. of the First National Bank of Granbury.
BANKERS' HOTLINE advisor Dana Turner is going into Granbury in September to present a shortened version of his program titled "Coping With Crimes Of Violence." Jerry originally contacted Dana to do the program for his bank, and then realized that Dana's program on business and personal safety and security would be valuable not only for all bank employees, but also for other community businesses and residents.
Recognizing a community need, he contacted the other banks in town and also called the Chamber of Commerce to see if they had any interest in co-sponsoring the three hour workshop.
They opened the session to all residents, and are charging a nominal fee for non-bank employees of $5 per person or $10 per family.
The result is an expected attendance of over 300 people in the local high school auditorium.
First National says they didn't originally plan the workshop to help their CRA rating, but "it certainly can't hurt!"
