Bank Starts Memorial Fund
An Alliance Services employee was fatally wounded while servicing a SouthTrust Bank ATM in early May. SouthTrust set up a memorial fund for the family of the victim, William Hill, and also have contributed $10,000 to the reward fund the FBI established for information leading to arrest. They are hopeful that someone with knowledge of the murder will come forward with information.
What's In A Name?
Remember Bankers Trust New York Corp? No more. It's now Bankers Trust. The official name change came about because it "redefines who they are" and they are "starting to tell a new story about their future" according to a spokesman who pointed out there are 3,000 employees of Bankers Trust in 25 European cities.
And how about Boston State Street Corp? They're now just plain State Street Corporation. And Bancorp Hawaii in Honolulu changed its name to Pacific Century Financial Corp., in order to "better communicate" their business and geographic reach, according to their chief executive officer. They do business in Asia, the Pacific, and the continental United States.
