Teaching Children to Save
Commerce Bank, Cherry Hill, NJ sent nearly 150 branch managers, executives and other bank volunteers out into a three-state area to teach school children the value of money and saving.

National Teach Children to Save Day is in its fifth year of existence - started by American Bankers Association's Educational Foundation. Commerce Bank employees participated in the event in mid-April by reaching out to 8,000 students in 323 classes in elementary schools in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. Those employees conducted both entertaining and educational activities to show students how and why they should save money, how to budget, how to prioritize wants versus needs and how interest works. Commerce also has a free online banking education service called Commerce WOW! Zone for children and teens at: http://www.commercewowzone.com/wowzone.asp
