Supporting Public Broadcasting
International Bancshares Corporation, Laredo, Texas, has thrown its support behind the region's Public Broadcasting Service. It has pledged $100,000 to PBS television stations in the South Texas area over the next few years. The money is earmarked to help stations convert to digital programming, which will bring improved audio and video quality, and introduce new services such as multi-casting, interactive television, and high definition. The stations have committed to increasing local content and educational programming for schools.
