Restoring Civility to Politics
The Independent Community Bankers of Minnesota has joined with a chain of newspapers and a cable association to support "Debate Minnesota," a nonprofit foundation that will plan, organize and moderate a series of debates in that state. The debates will be between candidates in Minnesota elections and will be held this fall. The bankers association says the goal of the program is to restore civility to the electoral system and to bring voters into the system. A bipartisan panel of well-known Minnesotans will run the foundation.
