Handicapped Robber

The man in the wheelchair was having a tough time getting in the security door of the Coconut Grove Pan American Bank in Miami, so an employee held the side door open for him.
Once inside, he rolled up to the manager's desk and handed her a small, brown paper bag scrawled with the message "Robbery put the money bag" and a "$1,500" on it. When he realized there was no cash at her desk, he rolled over and gave it to a teller.
The teller put two $100 bills in the bag. The robber headed out the door and then realized he only had $200. He started cursing, threw the demand note on the floor, and pushed his wheelchair across the street to the Metrorail station. He only got to the entrance, however, when a Wackenhut security guard stopped him and called the Miami police.
Police said the suspect, Larry Miller, 42, was in a wheelchair because of a botched robbery 20 years ago when a store owner wrestled his gun away from him and shot him. Miller has a history of arrests including one each for homicide, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault with a weapon, aggravated battery on a police officer, and smuggling contraband into prison. When he robbed the Pan American Bank, he was "driving" a $2,000 Quickie 2 Sports Wheelchair. He told reporters that "the system" made him rob the bank.
