"To The Airport, James!"
Ricky Beale, a personal trainer in San Francisco, hired a limousine and driver to pick him up and take him to the airport. Dressed in a purple and white track suit, he stopped first at a Bank of America branch to "make a withdrawal." His withdrawal included the use of a fake gun and a demand for cash.
With $5,000 now in his pocket, he got back into the limo, which was double-parked in front of the branch. The car was identified by a passer-by, and even in San Francisco the limo was not hard to find. It was stopped before it reached the airport. Beale took a trip to jail instead
