Banking 'School Mobile'

Fifth Third Bank is taking its expertise directly into communities through its Homeownership Mobile, a portable classroom that teaches people about homeownership, credit and other financial concerns. Equipped with the latest satellite technology and personal computers hooked to the Internet, the bus works with Freddie Mac and community organizations to educate local neighborhoods about what it really takes to buy a home today and what help is available to small businesses and people in need of credit help. The bus has both self- directed computer programs and instructor-led classes as well as credit counseling and printed materials. All of this is offered free to the public. The bus recently took a tour through Detroit neighborhoods and will travel over the next six months through Ohio and Indiana cities.
