They Were NOT Athletes
A Bank One branch in Dearborn, Michigan was robbed by two fellows who had obtained mountain bikes and left them outside the bank door in order to make their getaway.
Unfortunately, neither one of them understood the gearshift mechanism on the bikes, and rode away in first gear. They were going so slowly that the bank guard was able to follow them on foot and shoot one of them in the arm! They were both arrested and charged with bank robbery ... and perhaps failure to know how to ride a mountain bike.
