The Sounds of the Season
The jingling sounds in the lobbies of Bank of Oak Ridge weren't sleigh bells, but they did carry the holiday spirit forth to the benefit of the local United Way. The bank geared its machines so that customers could donate all or part of the coins they collected when they used the cash-counting machines. The bank also made an initial donation of $1,000 to the effort and matched up to $2,000 that the community collected and deposited into the machines.
