Expanding Credit Card Offerings
MBNA recently became the first financial institution to offer American Express-branded credit cards alongside its Visa and MasterCard programs. The bank took advantage of a recent Supreme Court decision to let stand a lower court ruling ending longstanding rules against partnerships like the one the bank has now formed with American Express.
MBNA said the card will appeal to high-spending consumers and will compliment the bank's extensive affinity card offerings.
