Reviving an Old Tradition
A credit union in Southern California brought back a fundraising idea from days past - the community pancake breakfast. Water and Power Community Credit Union got local officials to flip the cakes and local residents to eat them. The proceeds went to the Los Angeles Fire Department Adopt- A-Fire Station program, local schools and the Devonshire Police Activity League. The credit union said the event was held not only to raise money, but to create a sense of community in the area.
