Fund for Victims' Families
Gold Bank in Tampa, FL recently showed its "heart of gold" by establishing a fund with that name to benefit the families of two victims affected by a tragic shootout. The fund, which was administered by the Tampa Bay Area Community Foundation, was seeded by the bank's $10,000 contribution and matched by community contributions of $5,000. It is to be used to assist in the education of five children - offspring of a man killed and a man blinded when a gunman walked into a Radio Shack, shot the two men and then turned the gun on himself.
