Patting Employees on the Back
Sovereign Bank sets aside a week each year to celebrate the teams and individuals responsible for the bank's success. The "Together We Make The Difference" week features a wide range of activities from trivia contests to miniature golf competitions to lunches prepared and served by managers. Team members in each department come up with their own ideas on how to celebrate. The week culminates with presentations of awards - from the special Chairman's awards given to individuals dedicated to excellence to the Giraffe award given to team members who stick out their necks. The celebration started in 2002 and since then, more than 2,000 awards have been presented.
