Machine manufacturers are racing to come up with new types of ATMs in the U.S. that can take advantage of Check 21.
Tranax Technologies Inc. and Financial Payments recently announced a new Check-Cashing Self-Service Terminal, which they say blends traditional ATM functions with self-service check-cashing technologies. The machine is now being beta tested and will be available this summer.
Consumers can use the machine to cash any type of check - not just government or payroll checks - or to open accounts, get a debit card or get real-time check verification and approval.
