Fun at the ATM?
A Japanese bank has created a fun solution to those few minutes customers wait for transactions to process at automated teller machines: playing the slots. Customers at Ogaki Kyoritsu Bank see a slot machine on the screen as they stand in line. To play, they simply hit a stop button on the screen and if they are lucky enough to get three 7s lined up, they can "win" the equivalent of the fee the bank charges to use the machines after hours. If they are really lucky, they can line up three gold 7s and win about $10.
The game is not available during regular business hours when the bank does not charge for ATM use. Odds of winning are about 1 in 10 for the surcharge prize and about 1 in 500 for the top prize, the bank reports.
