BSA Training Requirements
Question: Do you know of any new requirement by examiners from FDIC that BSA training must be done in person/on site? We're an11 person, $30 million dollar bank. We've been told we have to have on-site BSA training in the next 90 days. We've filed only one CTR in two years - that's all we needed to do. We haven't been criticized for not filing. Just for not having personal training.
Answer: There is no requirement any of us have ever heard of for on site training. If you haven't done training and documented it however, that certainly could be the concern of your examiner. After our conversation, and use of Bankers Video Library BSA training tape and material, we were pleased to hear your examiner was satisfied with the training.
