New Aid for Those With Disabilities
Diebold has a concept automated teller machine that creates a new, easier way for people with disabilities to access the machine. The ATM replaces the keypad interface with a dial-like system called a haptic user interface, which is based on sense of touch.
Users enter personal identification numbers and select transactions by twirling the "dial." then pressing a button similar to one used on a computer mouse. According to Diebold, the system is more intuitive than traditional, push-button machines and could guard against shoulder surfing.
