A Contribution to Chicago's Art
JPMorgan Chase & Co recently announced a contribution of $5 million to help build the Art Institute of Chicago's new Building of the Century. The new, $258-million wing for the institute will expand gallery space by 30 percent and is the largest private-sector cultural project in the history of Chicago. The building will house modern and contemporary art. JPMorgan's predecessor The First National Bank of Chicago, has supported the institute since its birth in the 1880s.
