Surge Protection?
Banks are not the only industry facing Year 2000 problems. Power companies may face serious Y2K problems. Finding, testing, and correcting all the micro-chips that control the flow of electrical power is a daunting task. It is therefore reasonable to expect some power difficulties in January, 2000. Minor as it may seem, it is probably a good idea to include surge protection in your bank's contingency plan. Even if your computers and programming all roll over smoothly, all that effort could be erased with a series of large power surges.
