Question & Answer

Question: Your last issue discussed the new fair lending examination procedures. Where can I get a copy?

Answer: : The agencies mailed copies of these procedures to all banks. The mailing is addressed to the bank's CEO. So there should be a copy floating around your bank somewhere. However, recognizing that there is a remote possibility that someone in the CEO's office might not have recognized the significance of that particular mail, there are other places that you can find it.

The cheapest - but probably slowest approach would be to call your regional office and ask for a copy. You can also get it off the Internet from any of several sites. If you do this, have lots of paper loaded in your printer. At the FFIEC site, it is posted under the press releases. On the bank regulatory agency sites, it may be posted as a press release, a publication, or a supervisory letter or bulletin. You may have to click a few buttons, but it is there.
