Free Information on State Laws
There are plenty of sources for free information about federal banking laws. The same is true for state laws and regulations. You just have to know whom to call.
There are two good sources, both of which should be free. First, you can always contact the state banking department. Since they are responsible for enforcing state laws, they should know what the laws are. Second, you can always contact your state's Attorney General. Many AGs now have websites so you might even be able to do this through the Internet.
