HUD Still Hot on Fair Lending

As part of a Fair Housing Month initiative, HUD announced that it will be running a nation-wide education campaign to reduce housing discrimination. The campaign will include television and radio ads in both English and Spanish. The TV and radio campaigns will be supported by distribution of fact sheets which will be available in several other languages. The campaign is designed to reach traditionally under-served populations, including recent immigrants. The ads are the result of a partnership between HUD and Consumer Action. The ads and fact sheets will encourage people who believe that they may have been victims of discrimination to contact HUD by phone or HUD's website at www.hud.gov/hdiscrim.html. Tune in and watch or listen for the ads. It is always useful to know what your customers are hearing. It is also useful to know what your customers and others are complaining about.
