Question: When we send an adverse action notice to an applicant, does the notice have to state the type or amount of credit the applicant requested?
Answer: No. Regulation B requires specific content for the adverse action notice, but the type or amount of credit requested is not required. Many creditors do include a brief description of the type of credit, such as "mortgage loan" or "car loan." but this is not required by the regulation.
