FinCEN Reinstates Mexico
After an incident involving release of confidential information shared with Mexican authorities, FinCEN suspended information sharing with Mexico. FinCEN laid down the law with Mexico by specifying procedural requirements and safeguards that must be in place before information sharing could resume. Mexico has taken most of those steps and continues to work on others. FinCEN has resumed information sharing with Mexico and continues to work with Mexican officials to ensure the safety of shared information.
