Free and Cost Credit Reports
Under the FACT Act, consumers will have the right to obtain one free copy of their credit report annually. Consumers also have a right to a free copy of the credit report if their application for credit has been denied based on information in their credit report. Additional reports are available for a fee of $9.00. The Federal Trade Commission sets the rate for credit reports each year by adjusting the cost in $.50 increments to increases in the Consumer Price Index.
