Free and Open Source Software
Regulatory agencies have provided guidance on FOSS (free and open source software). In addition to providing specific advice on free software, the guidance, issued by the FDIC as FIL-114-2004, provides a handy guide to considerations when selecting any software. It makes a useful tool for choosing the right questions to ask when software is being selected. It is also a good guide for risk management practices.
