FEMA Remaps
FEMA is taking a look at the flood mapping process. In light of recent flooding trends, including some floods that have reached beyond the 100 year flood plains, FEMA is launching a five-year remapping schedule. Dubbed "MHIP," this Multi-year flood Hazard Identification Plan will be a national look at how FEMA and its partners map for flood hazard. The result is likely to be small but important changes to flood hazard maps in the coming years. So be alert for news from FEMA.
