HMDA: Manufactured Homes
According to the 2004 HMDA data, 41% of those borrowing to purchase manufactured homes were lower income. In contrast, only 24% of those purchasing site-built homes were lower income. The data also revealed interesting facts about who purchased manufactured homes. Only about 18% of manufactured homes were members of a racial or ethnic minority group. About 30% of purchasers of site-built homes were minorities.
