Customer Gifts
Question: I know that we can not give a realtor a gift for referring a loan to us but I was wondering if we could give the customer a gift after closing a loan.
Answer: Yes, you can. The rules against kickbacks apply to exchanges of things of value between settlement providers. But you can give any benefit you want to a customer, including a settlement gift.
