Mom Pleads Guilty
As a follow-up to the teenage bank robber story below, Diedre Lynn Blackburn has been sentenced to 35 years for each of the four bank robberies she was involved in. Her sentences will run concurrently and she will have to serve at least one-half before she is eligible for parole.
Her son, Charles Blackburn, was tried as an adult and sentenced to 30 years for two of the robberies he committed, which his mom planned. He was 16 when he robbed the Bank of America in Round Rock, TX. He may still be tried on two others. They robbed the Bank of America on December 1, 2007 and January 19, 2008. They were both indicted for robbing two other Bank of America branches on January 10 and 30.
