What Reg 0 amount to report?
by Andy Zavoina

Question: When reporting under Reg O the total extensions of credit to insiders for lending limit and call report purposes, are lines of credit reported using the current balance or the total available credit granted? For example, if a director has a line of credit of $500,000 with a current balance of $200,000, do you report the $500,000, since that is the amount still available to the director?

Answer: The total credit exposure here is the line of credit amount, not just what is actually funded. The line limit should be reported unless the call report instructions indicate otherwise.
