OCC Changes Address?
Answer by David Dickinson and Andy Zavoina, BOL Guru
Question: We are required to list the address of the OCC on our Adverse Action letters. Our current letter shows a Houston address. I have been told that the OCC has changed address and we may be showing an incorrect address on these letters. Someone in the office feels they should be going to Washington DC or Seattle.
Answer by David Dickinson:
BIO AND CONTACT INFO
Several years ago (1998?), the OCC switched to the following address:
Office of the Comptroller of the Currency
Customer Assistance Unit
1301 McKinney Avenue
Suite 3710
Houston, TX 77010
There has been no change in this requirement that I am aware of. I'm sure that BOL would make it known to all if this changed.
Answer by Andy Zavoina:
BIO AND CONTACT INFO
Good memory, David.
FYI, OCC-B-98-25 (Rescinded) Equal Credit Opportunity
May 29, 1998 made that change.
The address is now shown under Appendix A of Reg. B (so don't worry that 98-25 was rescinded) and David's address shown above is correct.
