Compliance Training Advice

Question: Please advise on how most banks administer/carry out their compliance training for their employees. Do they hold regular face to face training sessions?

How do they determine that they have adequate training sessions? How do they determine what material will be covered?

Answer: This will depend on your bank's size, employee locations and what their position and function is.

I recall a meeting that defined for me small and large banks. When asked this same question, I said we often produced short training memos and sent that with a sign-in log. The employee would read the material and call a stated number if there were questions. Another person from a large bank said they just covered the materials in their regularly scheduled Friday teleconference.

You may also try covering segments in short morning meetings by utilizing a train the trainer concept. Computer based training is also growing. This can be on a PC with software or the Internet.

It is good to have so many options.
