Chinese online banking users increases to 2.5 Million
According to the latest survey on Chinese online banks released by AC Nielsen, 29% of Chinese "net citizens" would become users of online banking. AC Nielsen's "net citizen" referred to the user who had an online period of at least three hours per week and an age over 15.

The survey indicated that the 23% of Chinese net citizens had tried online banking, compared respectively with 10% and 17% in 1999 and 2000. Although 75% of net citizens have not yet properly prepared themsleves to utilize online banking 60% of them were enthusiastic about the service, and 29% of them would be signing up.

AC Nielsen's survey also reported that security was the major deciding factor, while convenience and cost saving came a close second.
