Just confirming that banks with mortgage departments are generally EXEMPT from the licensing requirements described in Act 56 of 2008 (The Mortgage Act). The summary provided online contains the following statement on page 4.

Who is Not Subject to the Mortgage Act?
Licensing exemptions generally follow those contained in the MBBCEPA. The following entities are totally exempt from the Mortgage Act: Banking institutions, defined in Section 6102 as state-chartered banks, bank and trust companies,
savings banks or private banks; national banks; federally-chartered or state-chartered savings associations; and subsidiaries of any of these institutions. (Section 6112(1))
