I can't seem to find any requirements for a Fire detector in Banks. Can anyone enlighten me on this? We do not have any detectors in our branches at all.

Thanks

I'm not aware of any requirements. We don't have any either. The fire marshal has never said anything about it during inspections. It was a recommendation on a Fed and state S&S exam a few years ago so I don't think there's any requirement there either.

You would need to refer to your local or State building codes and insurance policy requirements. If a fire in your building kills a customer or employee and you don't fire detectors, your liability is going to be based on the strength of your balance sheet. Why is this something that you feel might be based on specific requirements????? You can buy them for about $10 at Home Depot.
