Does anyone know what SRA means in relation to investments?

We have a check that is title "ABC CO, CUST; JOHN DOE SRA".

Thank you.

Additional question. If the check is made payable as listed in my original post- it is not payable to John Doe, correct? Usually when I see checks like this they have to go into an account titled for that person, but the company owns the account and administers distributions.

Correct. I am not an expert on investments but I believe this is a type of IRA.
