I need to file a SAR for structuring. A small business gave an individual a check for $9500.00 on the July 12th, $9500.00 on the 13th, then the next week $9500.00 on the 20th and $9500.00 on the 21st. The non-customer cashed the checks on the day that is written on the checks.
Would I file a SAR on the customer that gave the guy the checks or the non-customer that cashed the checks? Or both?
I called FinCEN and they said that they couldn't advise me.
Can you all give me some advise.
