Notice of Rights Under Federal Privacy Act - 02/28/12 02:28 PM
We are new to ComplianceOne for our loan doc processing.
Today the document "Notice of Rights Under Federal Privacy Act" printed with a commercial R/E purchase transaction.
The notice allows the customer to refuse the disclosure of their social security number in Public Records in Louisiana.
Louisiana Revised Statutes 35:17(B) and 9:5141 C are referenced in the disclosure. It also refers to the Federal Privacy Act of 1974.
I looked up these Louisiana statutes and they were repealed a number of years ago.
I don't think we need this disclosure...Is that correct?
