For those of you who allow customers to enter stop payment requests through online banking, do you have any procedures in place to obtain a written statement under penalty of perjury if one is necessary?

Under what circumstances would you need a WSUPP in connection with a stop payment?

If your customer is able to enter a stop on an ACH entry using online banking and you miss the stop, you don't have a return right that a WSUPP will help with.

If, however, the stop order is timely placed on a check and the bank misses the stop because the check was converted to a ARC, BOC, or RCK, you can return the ARC or BOC using an R38 or the RCK using an R52 under the 60 days plus one deadline. Neither an R38 not an R52 requires a WSUPP.

Sorry, should have been more clear with my terms. Our bank allows customers to use the stop payment request on online banking for all kinds of returns - revoked authorizations, unauthorized items, and stop payments.
