I downloaded it and it's very comprehensive and impressive. I know this will sound stupid, but I'm not quite sure how to fill it out. I assumed that risk assessment was done at the product level, not individual account level, but I think the form is designed for individual accounts. I'm also not sure what to put down under "detection methods."

Ramona-

I too am working on red flags. I noted your email address- tell Ross Hello from CHOPPER. I was wondering if you have looked at red flag number 11 very much as of yet. It has to do with personal information not being consistent with other personal Identifying information and correlating the ssn with the date of birth. I have went to SS Admin site and apparently the correlation between number and date of birth is a myth. What is up with that???

You can't correlate a person's age with their social security number, but you can verify that the SSN wasn't issued prior that person's date of birth.

Please explain how I would do that? I appreciate your time for posting in advance.

There are "SSN Verification" reference books out there that tell you a range of dates when a SSN was issued and in what state it was issued. If the potential customer was born 1/1/1990, but the SSN was issued 5/5/1987, then you have a problem with the information you've been given.

Here is just one source for the reference book:

OK
You can also do that using the Social Security Website. They give you a range of numbers and the dates those numbers were issued and what number is being issued now. It will even tell you what state uses what set of numbers.

Curled up by the fire...
It's the 2 links that read:

* FCRA Red Flag Account Warnings in PDF format (right click on link and save the file to your hard drive)
* FCRA Red Flag Account Warnings in XL format (right click on link and save the file to your hard drive)

And, you might want to remove your personal info from the public forum.
