Does anyone know if MasterCard has any rules regarding the age of a debit card holder?
We are looking at opening cards for minors 13 to 18. We will require the parent or guardian to be on the DDA, plus sign the forms for ordering the card in the child’s name. They will also be required to sign (along with the kid) any dispute forms submitted for unauthorized transactions.
We think this has us covered from a “minor can not enter a contract” point of view.
I’m just wondering is anyone knows if MasterCard will have an issue with it?
My thought is they are in it for the money and will let us give a card to my dog if it creates interchange income.
(Too harsh?? crazy)

Not sure about MC, but VISA use to require the cardholder to be 18. As a current issuer, you should have a copy of the current rules in your bank.
