What are the actual "rules" for a background check.
I understand for an officer, but what about tellers, etc.
Also, the bank may nominate an "outside advisory director".
What about in that instance.?

What do you mean "rules"?
If your employer has opted to do background checks, I don't believe there are limitations other than they have to notify the applicant that they may be doing so.

And, do you mean a 'background' check or a credit check?

Believe it or not, we do background checks on everyone but no credit checks.

Pulling people out of the ditc...
we do both credit checks and background checks. Depending on the position applying for, the credit check may rule them out for employment.

You may also wish to consider sensitive positions that require yearly background/credit checks.

I'm in compliance and I got Drug Tested/credit checked and background checked. It may also depend on the type of position as well.
