How do financial institutions handle giving a provisional credit, required under Reg E, when the customer's account was closed upon the report of unauthorized transactions? Surely it's cost-prohibitive and time-consuming to cut checks for this (not to mention the fact that there's no way to ensure the check is received within the 10-day provisional credit window).

Curious - how are you complying with that requirement?
