a local business (our customer) has a lot of alien workers. they will bring their checks to us to cash. No drivers license, no state ID. They do have a alien card - would you allow that? Assume we can amend our CIP policy appropriately.

If these are non-customers of your institution, CIP is not required. You need to review your check cashing procedures.

Nothing to add, really. They are not opening an account so they are not "customers." CIP does not apply.

Nevertheless, your financial risk in cashing these items is pretty much open ended.

This may pose a problem, I know alien's in Indiana are no longer able to obtain state ID... we had to create a letter for one of our bank customer's to inform them that we would require state ID or driver's license to cash checks for their employees.
