We often have customers who want us to hold their mail because they are going away for a period of time or they don't "trust" their neighbors or they don't want other household members know they have an account.

Does anyone have a procedure set up for this? Do you do it?
Does the customer sign something? What if they never come in for their mail?

Thanks for your comments.

Knee Deep in Regs
We have the customer sign a statement requesting the bank holds the statement(s) and indicate the time period. We provide a 10 day grace period and if the customer does not come into the branch within those 10 days, we make attempts to contact the customer (preferrably via personal cell phone) and we mail the statement to the customer's normal mailing address.

We would only allow this option for customers that refuse online banking. Timing limitations for Reg E disputes etc... make this old practice unadvisable.
