Has anyone heard (maybe Anon Regulator?) when the FDIC is going to update their examination procedures on their website? I called my local examiner (looking for specifically the Reg C changes in the exam procedures) and he has to call Regional and they have to call Washington D.C. I'm kinda seeing why the reorganization was necessary if someone from inside just can't make one call to someone else and find out without having to do a small relay race just to answer a simple question. No, I'm not in a bad mood, it would just help if the local folks knew what was going on in the organization. Not sure if info is not shared freely in the organization or if the person I spoke with just hadn't had the need to find out the answer on this one yet. Okay, yes I am better now and I do have a good relationship with our examiners, it can just be frustrating sometimes in this "microwave-is-too-slow," high-speed internet environment.

The OCC released updated HMDA exam procedures last month. Here is a link to a Word document that announces the release. http://www.occ.treas.gov/ftp/bulletin/2004-15.doc

Here is a link to a PDF file that contains the actual exam procedures. http://www.occ.treas.gov/ftp/bulletin/2004-15a.pdf

The bulletin indicates that the FFIEC approved the exam procedures in December 2003. The FDIC, OTS, and FRS should be adopting these procedures soon.

Thanks for the info. As usual, the OCC seems on the ball and we are lagging behind, but hopefully we will see something from my folks soon too.
