My bank stopped disclosing the state recording tax on RESPA's. This was a accident - a breakdown in communication. The HUD was correct at closing. The result is that what we told the customers the closing costs would be is off by the Tax which can be as much as $500. We'll fix it going forward. How much trouble are we in for the ones that are wrong?

Are you talking about not including the fee on the GFE??? If so - there is nothing you can do and it could subject you to regulatory criticisms.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. My thought is the same as yours. There is nothing I can do and I'm subject to critisizm - what I'm trying to confirm is that there is no monetary penalty!
