We have a customer who will be transmitting their payroll files through our website in a NACHA format. They are starting a new payroll software program and the company is asking us for a Federal CASH ID prefix. I cannot find this in the NACHA rules.

They advised us that it either needs to be a space or a digit 1-9.

Thanks for any help.

No snarkiness intended: Have you asked the provider of the software company to provide an interpretation of what each of those digits might be? As far as I can tell, "Federal CASH ID" isn't a field in a standard ACH file.
